# Dapper Glossary

Our vision is to bring blockchain to all. We tend to use jargon in the blockchain community- here's a handy list of common terms we'll use throughout the documentation and in the community, too.

# Address

A string of alphanumeric characters that connects to a wallet to send and receive transactions.

# Blockchain

A shared ledger where transactions are recorded by appending blocks- a historical record of transactions.

# Co-sign

To act as a second signature using a smart contract wallet's invoke() method.

# Cryptocurrency

Tokens that serve as representations of digital assets.

# Decentralized Application (dApp)

Application that is open source, operates autonomously, and has its data stored on the blockchain.

# Gas Fees

Transaction fees that a miner receives when they successfully process a block.

# Multi-Signature (Multisig)

A way of providing security by requiring more than one key to authorize a transaction.

# Smart Contract

Working pieces of code and written clauses between a developer and a user, allowing a dApp to perform certain beneficial functionality for users.

# Transactions

An exchange of currency or assets that gains approval through consensus and is recorded on the blockchain.

# Wallet

A file that houses private user data and allows access to view and create transactions on a blockchain.
